Sewing Machines

COLLECTING ANTIQUE AND VINTAGE SEWING MACHINES

One of my favorite parts of sewing has always been the machine itself.  I have become fairly proficient at troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing my machines.  More recently I have begun a collection of antique and vintage machines.  This happened accidentally, but I quickly became enthralled and my collection is growing rapidly.

My kids said I should build a shed in the backyard and start a sewing machine museum.  Instead, I’ll try showcasing them here, along with information about them, in hopes that my virtual museum may be helpful to others who are interested in these venerable old machines.

I will share here about these machines, and some of what I have learned about them.  If you have one similar, and have questions, I will be happy to point you to resources or answers from my own (limited) experience.
